Venezuela Earthquake: Support for Mauve Employees

Support for Mauve Employees Following the Recent Earthquake in Venezuela

Written by Client Services

We are aware of the recent earthquakes in northern Venezuela that took place on Wednesday 24th June. We understand that this may have affected members of the Mauve Group network, and our thoughts are with everyone impacted.

The safety and wellbeing of our Employer of Record workers is our top priority.

What we know

Two major earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, occurred on 24 June. The epicentre was approximately 160km west of Caracas, but shaking was felt across much of northern Venezuela, and tremors were reported in Colombia, Bonaire, Curaçao, and Aruba.

There has sadly been widespread infrastructure damage, injury and loss of life reported. A state of emergency has been declared by the president Delcy Rodriguez, and emergency response efforts are ongoing. Residents are being advised to remain alert for aftershocks and to follow official safety guidance.

What we're doing

As your Employer of Record, we are monitoring the situation closely and are prepared to support workers who have been affected.

If the earthquake has affected your safety, wellbeing, or ability to work, we will work with you and your company to understand your circumstances and determine the most appropriate next steps.

Our Client Services team is available to provide guidance and support during this time.

Clients:

If you become aware that a worker has been impacted by the earthquake, or is unable to work or communicate due to the disruption:

  • Inform your Client Manager or the Client Services team as soon as possible at [email protected]. Please let us know:

  • the worker's current location;

  • whether they are safe and well;

  • whether they are able to work;

  • any guidance or support you have already provided.

  • Ask them to keep you and Mauve updated if they change location.

  • Guide them to official safety information and updates from the authorities and emergency services.

Thank you for keeping us updated on your workers' safety, whereabouts and ability to work. This helps us support them as quickly and consistently as possible and work with you to manage any disruption, whether they're based in the affected area or were travelling there at the time of the incident.

Mauve will continue to monitor the situation and will update with any developments. Our thoughts are with everyone affected; please reach out if there's anything we can do to support.
