Saudi Arabia: Guidance for Workers

Saudi Arabia security and travel update

Written by Client Services

Mauve Group is closely monitoring developments in Saudi Arabia following recent attacks affecting airport infrastructure and civilian infrastructure.

Saudi authorities are continuing to assess the situation and disruption to travel, government services and business operations continues while enhanced security measures remain in place.

King Khalid International Airport (Riyadh) is closed until further notice and it is recommended to continue checking official travel updates before making any travel arrangements.

At least eight countries have issued advisories against travel to Saudi Arabia, which may affect the validity or scope of some insurance policies.

What this means for workers in Saudi Arabia

If you are currently based in Saudi Arabia, travelling to Saudi Arabia, or have upcoming travel planned within the country, we recommend that you:

  • Follow guidance issued by local authorities and emergency services.

  • Avoid King Khalid International Airport (Riyadh) until further notice.

  • Monitor updates from your airline and airport before travelling, and allow for potential flight delays, cancellations or rerouting.

  • Check any travel or medical insurance policies for restrictions or changes to cover. Mauve can help direct queries about insurance arranged through our partners.

  • Keep your line manager and Mauve Group informed of any relocation, travel disruption or circumstances that may affect your ability to work.

  • Register with your embassy or consular authorities, where available, to receive updates and assistance.

  • Ensure travel documents are valid and that you have easy access to essential emergency contact information.

Government and immigration services

We have been advised that Nafath, Saudi Arabia's national digital identity and authentication platform, is currently experiencing technical issues affecting users accessing services from outside the country. This may result in delays to certain immigration, government and corporate processes while the issue is resolved.

Our local partners are monitoring the situation closely and will continue progressing requests wherever possible.
