If you commence or leave an assignment part way through the month then there is a possibility that your 'regular' pay will be adjusted to reflect this. Although rules regarding pro-rata calculations differ from country to country, you will often find that pay periods tend to be from the start of the month to the end of the month for calculation purposes.

Therefore, if you start or leave employment part way through a month then your pay will be reduced to take in to account the days worked in the pay period. For example, if you commenced work on the 14th April then you would typically be paid for the period from your start date to the end of the payroll period in your April pay. However, this is not the case for all countries.

You can usually find out more information about pay periods on your payslip ,or by reaching out to your Mauve contact who will assist you with any pay queries.
